Modem's enthusiastic Junior Stylist, Kim-Cerise Damaskin, is a native of France—but you wouldn't know it from her very American accent! After having assisted an independent hairdresser as a general assistant while still a teen, Kim entered a work-study program for certification as a cosmetologist. The program, overseen by the State of California, gave her hands-on experience to complement her extensive training in school.
"I like working with people and making them feel good after they come in," says Kim, whose personality is as colorful and upbeat as her sense of style. "They may be shy, and I get them to open up a bit." Kim's passion for hair extends to the products that keep it healthy and well styled (she should know, her own hair has been colored just about every hue in the rainbow!). "I'm really proud of the organic products that Modem uses," she says. "When I am in France, I am amazed at how hard it is to find any healthy choices in hair care. Nothing is up to the standards I have since I started working at Modem!" Kim offers amazing services at reduced prices. When she is not at the salon, Kim is almost always on some sort of adventure with her dog, Rocket. |
